The interception Brodrick Brown set up with a sensational play late in the second quarter didn’t seem to change momentum at that moment. But maybe it was a slow-developing shift.
Oklahoma State Vs. Oklahoma: Cowboys Tie Game In Third Quarter
Since that pick, the Cowboys have outscored Oklahoma 14-3, and just tied this game for the first time since it was 0-0 on a 20-yard pass from Brandon Weeden to Josh Cooper.
The Cowboys have gotten their bearing on offense after a slow start, and have scored touchdowns on their last two drives and three of their last five.
And that’s a good thing for Oklahoma State, especially considering that Weeden, running back Kendall Hunter, and wide receiver Justin Blackmon — who is still visibly hampered by an ankle injury — have yet to really bear down tonight. If that trio gets going, Oklahoma needs to watch out.
Oklahoma could also use a shot in the arm on offense, especially in the form of a big play. The Sooners’ longest play of the night was a 25-yard completion to Ryan Broyles, and that came early in the first quarter. Since, it has been dink and dunk for the Sooners, and that’s produced diminishing returns.
