Stanford Vs. Arizona: Cardinal Strike First On Andrew Luck Bomb

If Arizona’s defense is attempting to flummox Andrew Luck like it did Iowa’s Ricky Stanzi, there is clearly a bit of possum-playing going on.

Luck carved up the Wildcats on Stanford’s opening drive, completing four of five passes for 63 yards and hooking up with Chris Owusu for a 45-yard touchdown strike.

Of course, this is more or less to be expected with the Cardinal at home in Palo Alto. There may not be many fans in the stands, but Stanford’s put on a show at home all year, averaging 48.8 points per game.

And if Arizona’s vaunted defense can’t slow the Cardinal, the Arizona offense is unlikely to keep pace. The Wildcats, in part thanks to an injury to signal caller Nick Foles, have broken the 30-point barrier just once in Pac-10 play.
