Florida Gators quarterback John Brantley is still not practicing with the team, but Will Muschamp expects his quarterback to play against Georgia. Florida football beat writer Michael DiRocco passed along the information via his twitter feed. Brantley has missed Florida's last two games against LSU and Auburn, both of which resulted in losses for the Gators.
John Brantley Injury Update: Florida Gators QB Not Practicing, Could Play Against Georgia
Florida are on a bye week this week, and it seems to have come at the perfect time. The Gators have lost three straight and they probably need to run the table to clinch themselves a spot in a January bowl game. If Brantley still isn’t practicing, it seems unlikely that he could have played in a game this week.
Brantley suffered his lower leg injury against LSU, and the Gators' QBs have struggled in his absence. Jeff Driskel and Jacoby Brissett are both extremely talented players with potentially bright futures, but they're both freshmen. Brissett has looked very much like a freshman, while Driskel also picked up an injury in the LSU game.
