Florida quarterback John Brantley earned the ire of fans throughout the Gators' 8-5 season in 2010. This year they can't wait for his return after three-straight losses while he sat with a lower leg injury. Head coach Will Muschamp confirmed Monday what Gainesville had been hoping to hear, calling Brantley "probable" to start Saturday's game against the Georgia Bulldogs.
John Brantley Injury: Florida QB Probable For Georgia Game
Muschamp did add the caveat that Brantley isn't fully there just yet. There are still five days of recovery left to go. But barring a setback, Jeff Driskel and Jacoby Brissett should resume their backup roles. No decision has been made between the two to determine who will enter the game first should Brantley be forced to the bench again.
Two of the Gators’ losses were of the blowout variety against the consensus No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country. This week they face a Georgia squad that has won five straight after starting the season with two straight losses against ranked opponents.
