We’re down to the final weeks of the nation’s conference races, with title games coming into focus.
College Football Standings: Could Virginia Crash The ACC Championship Game?
The Week 13 USA Today poll and the Week 13 AP Poll each have an ACC team in the top six (it’s Virginia Tech), but there’s only a minute chance that an ACC team will play in the BCS Championship Game.

With Oregon’s loss in Week 12, the Pac-12 can only look at the Week 13 USA Today poll and the Week 13 AP Poll and wonder what might have been or hope for enough upsets to elevate Stanford back into BCS National Championship Game contention.

The Big Ten is devoid of BCS National Championship Game championship contenders: just check the Week 13 USA Today poll and the Week 13 AP Poll, and that’s easily understood. But the conference has a few Big Ten Championship Game contenders left.

The Cowboys are 7-1 in conference, with their only loss coming to Iowa State last Friday. The Sooners are 5-2 in conference, with losses to Texas Tech and Baylor. But Kansas State, 6-2 in Big 12 play, has lost to both teams, meaning that the Wildcats are out of the running for the Big 12 title because of head-to-head tiebreakers.

LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas are all theoretically alive in the SEC West, and the Razorbacks could force a three-way tie atop the division with a win over LSU this Friday; all three teams would be 7-1 in conference if Arkansas and Alabama win in Week 13. But that win might not get Arkansas to Atlanta, because a three-way tie would come down to BCS standings, and LSU is likely to remain No. 1 in them with or without a win this week.
