The SMU Mustangs changed quarterbacks after two series. Kyle Padron threw interceptions on both, which led to June Jones to put J.J. McDermott under center. That certainly lit a spark under the Mustangs as they marched down the field for 60 yards and a touchdown. But a later Aggies touchdown has them up, 20-7.
SMU Vs. Texas A&M Score: Mustangs Score After Quarterback Change, But Aggies Answer Back
Running back Zach Line picked up 45 yards on the drive, including a 27-yard rush that set up his one-yard touchdown run. The 27-yard play had originally been one yard longer and been called a touchdown. However, a review of the play had him down at the one-yard line.
SMU attempted an onside kick, but it failed, leaving the Aggies at SMU's 31-yard line. Cyrus Gray picked a three-yard touchdown run, but the extra point was blocked. The Mustangs almost ran it back, but they ultimately fell short.
