The Maryland Terrapins announced Friday that defensive coordinator Todd Bradford won't return for next season. This confirms a report from like ages ago, which had former Terps coach Ron Vanderlinden taking over. However, he's now a member of the Penn St. Nittany Lions staff, so that's that.
Todd Bradford Out As Maryland Defensive Coordinator
Maryland will replace not one, but two coordinators this offseason, with Todd Bradford the next to go.
Head coach Randy Edsall commented on the move in the most general of ways, saying things such as, “It is the right time for us to move forward in a different direction.”
The Terps will have replaced both coordinators after a disastrous first year under Edsall, during which the team won only two games and lost scads of players to other schools. The defense ranked No. 108 in the country in total yardage, so one could perhaps point to it as a trouble spot worth improving somewhat.
