Broncos vs Ravens score update: Baltimore ties Denver just before the half

Matt Prater failed to add to the lead before half and the Ravens responded quickly with a touchdown. Here is how.

The Ravens and Broncos finally settled down after a whirlwind of a first quarter, but finally settled down. That is, until the very end of the second quarter.

Denver opened up a 7-0 lead very early in the game on a 90-yard punt return by Trindon Holliday, the longest in playoff history. However, the Ravens quickly responded with a 59-yard touchdown pass to Torrey Smith from Joe Flacco, and then a Corey Graham pick-six on Peyton Manning. That gave Baltimore a 14-7 lead and that was all within the first six minutes of the game.

Manning came back and drove 74 yards to tie the game on a 15-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Stokley. The heavily favored Broncos took a 21-14 lead in the middle of the second quarter when Manning hit Knowshon Moreno for a 14-yard score. It looked like Denver could go up by 10 points just before the half, but Matt Prater missed a 52-yard field goal attempt at Mile High and Flacco wasted no time at all after that.

Flacco was 3-of-3 for 58 yards on the next drive and hit Smith again, this time for a 32-yard touchdown. They go into the half with the score all tied at 21-21.

Could they possibly top this action in the second half? We will find out, and Denver gets the ball back to start it off.
