Redskins RB Ryan Torain is now the feature back in Washington with RB Clinton Portis down with an injury. Some are thinking Portis may not return this season from his injury and, if that's the case, Torain's fantasy football role will become even bigger as the season goes along.
Fantasy Football: How Good Can Redskins RB Ryan Torain Be?
The Redskins looked to him 20 times on Sunday against the Colts and he delivered 100 yards and two scores.
It was his third game as the main man for the Redskins and finally delivered on a big day. Torain’s last two games had been very average as he couldn’t hit four yards per carry.
Sunday’s performance showed that Torain can be effective in a Mike Shanahan offense. The Redskins coach is known for creating no-name stars at running back with his offensive system. If you look hard enough, you can start to see that happening with Torain.
We should find out over the next few weeks if Torain will become the next in a long line of no-name running backs that Shanahan has turned into a star.
