In what was a showdown of 3-2 teams with a share of first place on the line in the AFC South is taking on a tone of an unintentional late preseason game. Both starting quarterbacks have left the Monday night game with injuries. The only persisting theme is that the Titans are in near complete control of the game.
Titans Vs. Jags: Trent Edwards Appears, Leads Late Long Jags Drive That Nets Nothing
Former Bills starting quarterback Trent Edwards took over for a banged up and generally ineffective David Garrard. Edwards was actually pretty good in limited action, completing six of nine passes for 55 yards. He lead the Jaguars on their only drive into the Titans’ red zone, but Marcedes Lewis fumbled after a short reception to prevent Jacksonville from getting on the board.
If something were to happen to Trent Edwards, tight end Zach Miller would be the emergency third quarterback. Garrard hasn’t been ruled out from returning, but it remains unclear what exactly his injury is.
