Today, the answer to Brett Favre’s eternal question of “Will he or won’t he?” seems like “He will.”
Report: Brett Favre Expects To Start For Vikings Against Patriots
According to a report, Favre told ESPN’s Ed Werder that his left foot and ankle injuries have healed substantially, and that he expects to start for the Vikings against the Patriots this Sunday. Favre has been dealing with ankle injuries dating back to last year’s NFC Championship Game against the Saints, but it was revealed this week that he has fractures in his ankle that did not require surgery.
This would be Favre’s 292nd consecutive start, extending his NFL record, and represents a shift in the thinking from the Vikings, who were reportedly leaning towards starting backup Tarvaris Jackson earlier this week. But Favre indicated he wanted to start midway through the week, and worked in practice on Friday.
Of course, this is also just Favre’s word. Coach Brad Childress and the Vikings may still have other plans.
