After starting the 2010 season with a 4-0 record on the road, the Miami Dolphins’ streak of success away from home has finally come to an end. The Baltimore Ravens, keyed by an efficient offense and a dominant defense that forced three Chad Henne interceptions, cruised to an easy 26-10 victory with an outstanding performance in the second half.
Week 9 NFL, Ravens Vs. Dolphins: Baltimore D Dominant In 26-10 Win
Henne was intercepted twice in the second half, with the first of those setting up a Billy Cundiff field goal. Ed Reed and Josh Wilson did the honors, with Wilson’s interception coming on a last-second Dolphins drive that would only have added a meaningless score at the end of regulation.
Baltimore’s strong defensive outing also included two sacks of Henne and solid work against the run, with Miami’s solid rushing duo of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams churning out just 72 yards between them. Henne also had problems handling exchanges from center, fumbling several snaps, though he didn’t lose any of them.
Joe Flacco completed 20 of 27 passes for 266 yards, throwing touchdown passes to Willis McGahee and Derrick Mason in the victory. The real offensive stars for Baltimore, however, were McGahee and Ray Rice, who combined for 246 total yards and a touchdown on 38 touches between them. With that type of production, Flacco didn’t need to look any further down the field than his check-down options.
Miami’s road streak may be over, but Baltimore’s home streak is alive: they are now 4-0 at home this season.
