In his first game of any box score distinction since 2009, San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson is putting on a show for a prime time audience. After pulling in what remains the game’s only touchdown, he’s added a pair of catches to reach 80 yards with time to go before the half.
Vincent Jackson Starring In 49ers-Chargers Thursday Night Football, Bolts Lead By Ten
The Chargers lead the San Francisco 49er 10-0 after a 25-yard Nate Kaeding field goal capped a 90-yard, 13-play epic. The Niners had a field goal on the board, but elected to take a first down and try for a touchdown after a Chargers lineman was whistled for hurdling San Fran’s line on the kick. The 49ers ended up attempting a fourth-down conversion near the goal line, only to be stuffed.
QB Philip Rivers is 10-of-13 for 140 yards and a touchdown, outshining Alex Smith’s 56 yards on nine attempts. Niners RB Anthony Dixon leads all rushers with 30 yards, and WR Josh Morgan’s 44 leads all San Fran receivers.
