Week 17 NFL Scores And Results: NFL Playoff Picture Can’t Exclude Bucs Yet, Tampa Beats Saints 23-13

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kept their playoff hopes alive, beating the New Orleans Saints 23-13 in the Superdome. They’ll need the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants to lose in order to become the NFC South’s third 2010 playoffs team. The Saints and Atlanta Falcons are in as the NFC’s No. 5 and No. 1 seed, respectively.

These rivals played a close game across the board, finishing within 12 total yards of each other. The Bucs forced one more turnover than the Saints did, and Josh Freeman played a much more efficient game than Drew Brees did — Freeman completed 21 passes in 26 attempts, while Brees completed 22 in 38, and the young Bucs passer nearly doubled the Super Bowl MVP’s yards per pass.

The Saints will travel to play the NFC West winner, while the Bucs will play the Philadelphia Eagles if they can get some help.
