While this game may have had little postseason implication for both teams, it was still a hard-fought divisional game.
NFL Week 17 Scores And Results: Giants Use Turnovers To Propel Them To Victory Over Redskins, 17-14
The Giants lead throughout, but the Redskins, behind Rex Grossman, nearly completed the comeback in the end.
The problem for the Redskins, and the key statistic in the game, was turnovers. Washington fumbled the ball three times, and Grossman also threw an interception. That was what negated their 20 first downs which they gained throughout the game.
Grossman had a strong game, completing 26 of 44 passes for 336 yards (two touchdowns, one interception).
On the other side of the ball, QB Eli Manning was not sharp. He completed only 17 of 29 passes for 243 yards (one touchdown, one interception).
