Ravens Vs. Jets Final Score: Defense Wins The Day In 34-17 Baltimore Victory

In a game that feature loads of defense and little offense, the Baltimore Ravens put away the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football, 34-17. The Baltimore defense did the heavy lifting, scoring three touchdowns while taking advantage of numerous Jets' miscues. It was one of those nights in Baltimore.

The Ravens opened the scoring with -- what else? -- a defensive touchdown as Jameel McClain scooped up a Mark Sanchez fumble and took it back six yards for the score. On the ensuing kickoff, though, New York struck back with a Joe McKnight return touchdown, evening the score at seven. A field goal and a Ray Rice touchdown, the only offensive touchdown of the game, gave the Ravens some breathing room, and effectively put away the Jets by the end of the first quarter.

Baltimore added a second defensive touchdown in the second quarter as Jarret Johnson scooped up another Sanchez fumble and returned it for the touchdown. New York answered back again, this time by way of an interception return of their own, to head into the half down 27-17.

The second half was a slog, with the only score coming by way of a 73-yard interception return by the Ravens.

Joe Flacco completed 10 of 31 passes for 163 yards and an interception, with Sanchez completing 11 of 35 passes for 119 yards and an interception. Ray Rice led the way on the ground with 66 yards and a score, and easily outgained the entire Jets' offense on the ground.
