Colts Vs. Saints Score: New Orleans Takes Early Lead After Curtis Painter Takes Ball Off Face

The New Orleans Saints got off to a good start on NBC's Sunday Night Football, though it wasn't exactly all of their doing. The Colts actually took control of the ball first, but a quick snap caught Curtis Painter off guard, leading to a fumble and a quick score the other way when Drew Brees connected with Marques Colston in the end zone.

The Colts looked to be moving the ball like a competent offense, even running the no-huddle well under Curtis Painter -- the team's third-string quarterback behind injured veterans Peyton Manning and Kerry Collins -- but then he took a snap off of the chinstrap (as the video below shows).

Following that mishap, Drew Brees needed to take his team just 41 yards down the field to give his team the first score of the game. After runs from all three running backs -- Pierre Thomas, Mark Ingram and Darren Sproles -- Brees found wide receiver Marques Colston in the end zone with a 14-yard toss.
