Brees didn’t even play in the final quarter of play, but those looking at his box score statistics probably wouldn’t believe that as the Saints quarterback completed 31 of his 35 passing attempts for 325 yards and five touchdowns. It wasn’t a perfect quarterback rating, but finishing a game with more touchdown passes than incompletions is never a bad thing.

Painter apparently misread the defense as he threw a perfect pass to a waiting Torrence in deep coverage. Torrence then did what many of his teammates have done during Sunday Night Football, returning the ball 42 yards into the opposite endzone.

The Colts got off to a great start early when they were able to capitalize on an early folly from Curtis Painter to make the score 7-0 when Brees connected with Colston in the end zone. Just a few minutes later, the two connected again to give the Colts a 14-0 lead and the Sean Payton led team hasn’t looked back ever since.
Brees has connected on 21 of his 25 passing attempts in the first half for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns, as mentioned earlier, went to Colston as he’s picked up five receptions for 73 yards.

Carter was forced into full-time duty due to a Joseph Addai injury earlier in the first half and, not surprisingly to those that have been following the situation in the Indianapolis backfield, has looked solid in his time on the field. The rookie out of Syracuse has rushed six times for 76 yards and the shutout-canceling touchdown.
The Colts still have a big lead, but at least Colts fans can point to Carter as a bright spot in the first half.

Joseph Addai did take the field on Sunday despite a nagging hamstring, but his day may already be over. Addai headed back to the sideline after his existing injury flared up, and has stayed out of the game ever since. The Indianapolis Colts running back is questionable to return and may sit out as a precaution.
Addai had been dealing with an injured hamstring ahead of the game and though he was ready to go on Sunday, he said it didn’t feel quite right. Before the game, Addai said he felt that if the game was Tuesday his hamstring would be fine, but it was still a little off as he prepared to take the field.

Colston suffered a broken collarbone in the opening game of the NFL regular season, but that obviously isn’t an issue anymore. Though Colston has just three catches in Sunday night’s game, two of them have gone for touchdowns as the Saints have raced out to an early 14-0 lead with over five minutes left in the first quarter.

While Gonzalez is nominally Pierre Garcon’s backup, Garcon has emerged as the Colts No. 1 wide receiver, overcoming Reggie Wayne. Curtis Painter has taken a liking to Garcon, which would make it hard for Gonzalez to get many targets from Painter.
Fantasy owners would be well advised to stay away from Gonzalez. His injury situation as well as his doubtful playing time even if he were active for games makes him one of the receivers owners should let slip from the mind.
