Chad Henne’s Injury Could Be Serious, According To Report

The Miami Dolphins are 0-4, head coach Tony Sparano is on the hot seat and now it's possible they've lost their starting quarterback. Nothing is confirmed but NFL Network's Jeff Darlington reports the Dolphins are "concerned" about an injury to his non-throwing shoulder and are seeking a second opinion on the injury. The Dolphins fear it could threaten part or all of his season.

The exact severity of the injury is unclear but it's enough that the Dolphins are trying to sign other quarterbacks. Jason La Canfora reports both the Dolphins unsuccessfully tried to sign David Garrard and Jake Delhomme this week. They carry only Matt Moore behind Henne so they would likely need to sign one, or even two, quarterbacks.

The Dolphins enter the bye week so if Henne’s shoulder injury isn’t season ending then the bye comes at a good time. It will depend on what the Dolphins original diagnosis of the injury is and what the second opinion says.

Still, this is a major blow to an already struggling team ranked last in SB Nation’s NFL power rankings.

Stay tuned to SB Nation’s The Phinsider for more updates.
