Danny Amendola Injury Update: Rams Receiver Likely Done For The Season

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola appears to be done for the season with an elbow injury. Reports today suggested that Amendola will not recover from a dislocated elbow and a torn triceps in time to help the struggling Rams this year.

Adam Caplan of Sirius/XM reported this afternoon that Amendola’s season was likely finished.

I’m told Rams KR/WR/PR Danny Amendola (dislocated elbow/torn triceps) is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Amendola was schedule to get an second opinion on his injury today from a doctor in Texans. The outcome of that consultation is not yet known. This doctor visit is expected to determine whether or not he will need surgery.

The Rams lost Amendola to a dislocated elbow in a week one loss to the Eagles. That injury did not require surgery, and the Rams were waiting for him to regain strength in the joint before putting him back on the playing field. He returned to practice last week, prior to the Rams’ week four game against the Washington Redskins, where he re-injured the elbow and tore his triceps.

Quarterback Sam Bradford and the Rams offense has struggled without their top receiver from a year ago.
