Danny Amendola Update: Rams WR Will Have Surgery, Be Placed On IR
The St. Louis Rams officially lost their top receiver today. Danny Amendola will undergo surgery to repair a torn triceps, according to his agent. The Rams later confirmed that he will be placed on the injured reserve list, officially ending his season.
Amendola dislocated his elbow in the Rams’ season opening loss to the Eagles. It looked like he might be close to returning last week as he started taking reps in practice for the first time since suffering the injury. It was in practice where he re-injured his arm, tearing his triceps further, to the point where surgery is now required.

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola appears to be done for the season with an elbow injury. Reports today suggested that Amendola will not recover from a dislocated elbow and a torn triceps in time to help the struggling Rams this year.
Adam Caplan of Sirius/XM reported this afternoon that Amendola’s season was likely finished.

Unfortunately, it appears he’s taken a step backwards.
He was hoping to play last weekend so there was an expectation that he’d be back soon, which makes this more depressing for Rams fans.

St. Louis Rams wide receiver returned to practice today in a limited role, doing individual work. It was the first time since dislocating his elbow against the Eagles in week one that he has practiced. Amendola also said that he expects to play this week when the Rams host the Washington Redskins. The team is not so sure.
When Amendola was first injured, it looked as though he suffered a serious enough injury to end his season. However, the dislocated elbow did not require surgery. It was literally a matter of popping it back into place and regaining the strength in the joint.
