Danny Amendola Injury: Rams Receiver Expects To Play This Week; Team Not So Sure

St. Louis Rams wide receiver returned to practice today in a limited role, doing individual work. It was the first time since dislocating his elbow against the Eagles in week one that he has practiced. Amendola also said that he expects to play this week when the Rams host the Washington Redskins. The team is not so sure.

WR Danny Amendola took part in some individual work. No team drills but he says he’s expecting to play this week. No guarantee there, though

When Amendola was first injured, it looked as though he suffered a serious enough injury to end his season. However, the dislocated elbow did not require surgery. It was literally a matter of popping it back into place and regaining the strength in the joint.

The Rams will likely hold Amendola out of action until after the team’s week five bye, giving him another two full weeks to build up his strength. Quarterback Sam Bradford could certainly use his favorite target back on the field. The second-year quarterback has struggled to find open receivers when pressured this season.
