NFL Odds And Lines Week 5: Raiders Vs. Texans

The Houston Texans are enjoying 3-1 start to the season with the threat of the Colts no longer hanging over them. They can continue their solid beginning with a win over the Raiders on Sunday.

The team that has likely benefited the most from the absence of Peyton Manning this season has been the Houston Texans. This appears to be their season to head to the playoffs; they are 3-1 and tied for first place in the AFC South with the Tennessee Titans.

When they host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, the Texans will be the favorites. The opening line provided by Odds Shark had them favored by a touchdown, but that has since shifted to six points on other lines. They Texans did beat up some easy teams to start the season, as both the Colts and the Dolphins are still winless. The absence of Andre Johnson will force other receiver to step up for quarterback Matt Schaub.

The Raiders, meanwhile, are coming off a 12-point loss to the New England Patriots. Their rush defense is No. 29 in the league, which could bode well for the Texans, who have the No.4 ground attack. This should be a contest of running backs since the Raiders have the top rushing game at 178.8 yards per game. This game is likely to go over the 48 already offered.
