According to our partner at Odds Shark, the New England Patriots opened as eight-point favorites over their bitter AFC East rival New York Jets.

The Jets are coming off an embarrassing loss Sunday night to the Baltimore Ravens, where Mark Sanchez & Co. generated just 150 yards of total offense and turned the ball over four times, three of which were returned for touchdowns by the Ravens defense. The Jets have won five of their last seven meetings against AFC East opponents, and have won three of the last five overall games against New England, including a 28-21 win in the 2010 AFC Divisional Playoffs last January.

New England has won seven straight at home against AFC East opponents and have scored 30+ points in 12 straight regular season games. In the last regular season meeting between the Jets and Patriots, quarterback Tom Brady completed 21-of-27 pass attempts for 326 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-3 rout.
