The Atlanta Falcons were the underdogs heading into their Sunday Night Football match-up with the Green Bay Packers, but the home team is off to a solid start. Running back Michael Turner scored a touchdown on the team's second drive -- following a Ryan Grant fumble -- and the home team has taken a 14-0 lead over the defending Super Bowl champions.
Packers Vs. Falcons: Michael Turner Score Gives Atlanta Early Two Touchdown Lead
The Falcons first score of the game came on a nice drive that ended in a touchdown to Roddy White from Matt Ryan and, like the first four games of the season, the Packers were expected to answer with a passing touchdown of their own. When running back Ryan Grant turned the ball over on a fumble, however, it took the Falcons just 10 plays and 60 yards to give the home team the lead on Turner's touchdown run.
It's early, but the Falcons offense has looked very good with Matthew Ryan completing eight of his 10 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown while Turner's rushed the ball for 36 yards and a touchdown of his own. Back-up running back Jason Snelling also has two receptions for 21 yards in a surprise change of pace.
