The only thing that could stop Aaron Rodgers was when the Packers put him on the bench the fourth quarter of their blow out win against the Vikings on Monday Night Football. Green Bay won by a score of 45-7 in a game that showcased the full force of the still-perfect defending Super Bowl champions.
NFL Scores Week 10, Vikings Vs. Packers: Aaron Rodgers Leads Green Bay Destruction Of Minnesota, 45-7
The Packers remain perfect with an utterly dominating 45-7 win against the Vikings on Monday Night Football.
Rodgers threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns against a Vikings defense ill-outfitted to match up with the Packers talented and well-managed pass attack. With the win the Packers are now 9-0 on the season. The Vikings drop to 2-7 on the year.
Offensive Player of the Game: Aaron Rodgers, who else? The Packers quarterback showed why he is the best player in the NFL right now, albeit against the 30th-ranked pass defense in the NFL. Rodgers threw for all over the Vikings (you saw the stats above) while spreading the ball to nine receivers.
It Was Over When: Pick a Packers touchdown. Green Bay put the game on ice in the third quarter, when it answered the Vikings lone touchdown of the game with a 5-play, 50-yard drive and a touchdown to extend the lead to 31-7 in the third quarter. Of course, it might as well have been over after Randall Cobb's 80-yard touchdown return gave the Packers a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. The Vikings never challenged.
GIF of the Game: First, there were Cheeseheads. Now there are Cheese Top Hats. Noted.
What It Means for the Vikings: The Vikings season is over, but somehow this feels like a new low. The Packers thoroughly dominated this game on national television and Minnesota lost its ninth straight NFC North game, a franchise record. Ouch.
What It Means for the Packers: Business as usual for Green Bay, which remains the lone undefeated team in the NFL. Next up for the Packers is the slumping Bucs. Too early to chalk up another W?
Lasting Image of the Game: This makes all and none of the sense in the world.
