Antoine Winfield Injury: Vikings CB Likely Out For Rest Of Season

The Vikings lost to the Packers on Monday night and they also lost cornerback Antoine Winfield for the season with a broken collarbone.

Minnesota Vikings CB Antoine Winfield returned to the field on Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers for the first time since early October but he's headed back to the sideline, likely for the rest of the season, after breaking his collarbone, head coach Leslie Frazier confirmed.

Winfield hurt his neck against the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 2 and had been out the last four games due to that injury. He returned on Monday Night Football, a game in which the Vikings lost by 38 points, but broke his collarbone in the game.

This means Winfield is likely out for the rest of the season which also means the Vikings will be without another member of their secondary as they're still missing CB Chris Cook.

As SB Nation Minnesota says, things can always get worse.

Minnesota Vikings fans should know better than to utter the words, “Well, at least it can’t get any worse.” Because it can. . .and it invariably does.

The 2-7 Vikings are now tied for the second worst record in the NFL.

Check out SB Nation’s Daily Norseman for more on the injury.
