Thanksgiving Football: Packers, Aaron Rodgers, Defeat Lions 27-15 In Detroit

The Packers used a momentous third quarter to turn back the Detroit Lions on the road on Thanksgiving, using a 307-yard, two-touchdown performance from Aaron Rodgers to win, 27-15.

After a sluggish start, the Green Bay Packers' explosive offense turned it on in the second half to run away from the Detroit Lions, winning by a score of 27-15. They were held scoreless in the first quarter, led only 7-0 after the first half, but in the third quarter, everything changed.

Ndamukong Suh was ejected for stomping on a Packers' offensive lineman, Matthew Stafford threw two of his three interceptions, leading directly to 10 points, including a long James Jones touchdown reception and the Packers led 24-0 after a wild 15 minutes.

Despite a Keiland Williams touchdown and ensuing two-point conversion and a touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to Calvin Johnson with 11 seconds left on the clock, the game wasn't really in doubt after the third quarter. Williams' touchdown came early in the fourth quarter, but a long Packers drive that resulted in Mason Crosby's second field goal in the game directly afterwards essentially iced the game.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 307 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, Jones led the Packers in receiving with three receptions for 94 yards and a score, while Ryan Grant led the packers in rushing with 20 yards. Stafford threw for 276 yards to go with the garbage-time touchdown and three picks, while Maurice Morris and Kevin Smith, who injured his ankle in the game, combined for 14 carries and 75 yards. Morris also led the Lions in receiving with nine receptions and 81 yards.
