It’s irresponsible to count the Lions completely out of this game considering their propensity for fourth quarter comebacks, but unless they can find a way to cut down on turnovers and slow down the Packers’ offense, they won’t be able to hand Green Bay their first loss of the season.

This is a massive loss for the Lions as Suh is easily the best player on the defense, and among the best in the entire NFL. Suh has gained a reputation as a dirty player for multiple illegal hits and even recently met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to clear the air on some of those hits but apparently that didn’t help in this situation.
Bad news for the Lions. The’yre trailing the Packers, 7-0, and they just lost their best player.

We here at SB Nation are not famous for our love of Nickelback, so no, we will not subject you to a video of Nickelback’s actual performance during halftime. Rather, we will give you the reaction of the crowd at Ford Field when Nickelback was announced and after they performed. The best way to describe this is a “mixed reaction,” but the people near the microphone were cheering, while the stadium on the whole seems to be booing as a collective. That’s not a surprise, considering there was a petition signed by more than 50,000 people to stop them from performing.
Check out the video after the jump.

The two dominant units of the game have been the Lions’ defensive line and the Packers’ defensive backfield. The Lions which has pressured Rodgers consistently, preventing him from getting in any sort of extended rhythm. He’s just 9/15 for 64 yards, with that touchdown on a 10-yard drive, nine of which came via penalty.
Expect both offenses to make adjustments at halftime and there to be a lot more points scored in the second 30 minutes of this contest.

The Packers punted the ball to the Lions with about a minute left in the first half and Patrick Lee was in on the coverage unit for Green Bay. He and a couple of Lions players got into it during the punt, exchanging a few punches. It looked like players from both teams were involved but it was Lee who got the short end of the stick as the officials decided to eject him.
Here’s video of the fight between the two teams:

If that sounds familiar to the Packers, it should. The Lions were constructed to beat the Packers. That’s what their team is built to do. So this is, clearly, the biggest game of the year for them (and Green Bay).
I read over at SB Nation’s Acme Packing Company that Packers fans aren’t that confident about this game and I don’t think they should be. Green Bay is obviously the better team -- we know that after seeing the 10-0 start -- but the Detroit home crowd will be a legitimate advantage and the Lions will be fired up for the game of the year.

The Packers (10-0) will become the first undefeated team to play on Thanksgiving in 50 years and the Lions are in the midst of what should be their first winning season since 2000 and possibly their best season since 1991 when they went 12-4 and won their division. To make the game that more anticipated, the two teams are combining to average more than 65 points per game and allowing more than 43. The Lions have not beaten their NFC North rivals since 2005.
Game Date/Time: Thursday, Nov. 24, 12:30 p.m. ET

GREEN BAY, WI - NOVEMBER 20: Aaron Rodgers #12 of the Green Bay Packers throws against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeau Field on November 20, 2011 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. (Photo by Matthew Stockman/Getty Images) Getty ImagesThe over-under is an interesting bet this week as well. Vegas opened it at a robust 56 points, which would normally be too high to be worth betting on the over, but these two teams have shown that they are able to put points in bunches -- and may need to this week as they work to keep up with eachother.
