The Detroit Lions have been so bad for so long that the tradition of having them play on Thanksgiving Day was really becoming quite a bore. Nothing could be further from the truth this year as they host the Green Bay Packers in a game that should feature loads of scoring.
Packers Vs. Lions: TV Schedule, Game Time Announcers And More
The Lions prepare to host the undefeated Packers on a Thanksgiving Day game that should feature plenty of scoring.
The Packers (10-0) will become the first undefeated team to play on Thanksgiving in 50 years and the Lions are in the midst of what should be their first winning season since 2000 and possibly their best season since 1991 when they went 12-4 and won their division. To make the game that more anticipated, the two teams are combining to average more than 65 points per game and allowing more than 43. The Lions have not beaten their NFC North rivals since 2005.
Leading the way for the Packers has been and should be Aaron Rodgers. The quarterback has already thrown for 3,168 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has not been bad either and is coming off a five-touchdown performance last week. He has thrown for 2,843 yards and 25 touchdowns, 11 of which have gone to monstrous wide receiver Calvin Johnson.
