The San Francisco 49ers should have been using a season finale against the hapless St. Louis Rams to rest their starters. Instead, they need a win this week to earn a first-round bye and start the playoffs at home. For the Rams, the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft is at stake. All they need is a Colts win and a loss in this game.
NFL Odds And Lines Week 17: 49ers Vs. Rams
The 49ers need a win in the final week to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs. Fortunately for them, they play the St. Louis Rams.
A Rams loss seems to be a widely predicted outcome this week. San Francisco opened as 10-point favorites. The line has since moved to 12 points for some odds makers. St. Louis has been among the worst teams against the spread with just a 2-12-1 mark this season. The 49ers are the opposite, owning a 11-3-1 record against the spread.
The over/under on this game is set at 36 and a half points. St. Louis has the league's worst offense, averaging less than 12 points per game and coming off a shutout against the Steelers last week. San Francisco won't likely need many points to win this one.
