Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte will miss the remainder of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering an apparent knee injury on a first-quarter carry. The injury occurred on Forte's fifth carry of the game. He had 12 yards rushing at the time of the injury.
Matt Forte Injury: Bears RB Out For Rest Of Game
Forte was able to walk off the field under his own power, but replays of the injury looked as if he bent his knee awkwardly. There has yet to be word on how serious the injury is.
Marion Barber is the next running back on the Bears' depth chart and figures to get the bulk of the carries as long as Forte is out. Barber has been solid in a backup role so far this year, carrying 62 times and scoring five touchdowns. He has averaged just 3.8 yards per carry, though, and has just three catches. Barber did once score 28 touchdowns over two seasons, but that was in 2006-07.
