NFL Scores Week 13, Chiefs Vs. Bears: Tyler Palko’s First-Half Hail Mary Wins It

Tyler Palko, who appeared to have been pulled after a lackluster performance in the first quarter, threw a Hail Mary touchdown on the final play of the first half that stood up to be the winner in the Kansas City Chiefs' 10-3 victory over the Chicago Bears (7-5) on Sunday. Palko was not particularly good in the game, completing just 17 of 30 passes for 157 yards, but he was good enough on a day when Bears quarterback Caleb Hanie threw three interceptions for the second consecutive game.

Palko was only even playing because of an injury to Kyle Orton. The former Bears quarterback was brought in during the first series of the second quarter, but suffered an injury to his right index finger on his first pass attempt and did not come back into the game.

Palko's one highlight was not exactly a glowing example of quarterback greatness, either. By all rights, his throw at the end of the first half should have been intercepted and was knocked down. But the ricochet went right to Dexter McCluster for a 38-yard touchdown.

The Chiefs (5-7) defense does deserve a healthy dose of credit. They held the Bears to 181 yards of total offense, which was without Matt Forte for much of the game after he went down with an injury.
