DT Shaun Rogers Visits Kansas City Chiefs

The Cleveland Browns released DT Shaun Rogers last week and it didn’t take long for him to draw interest around the league. According to reports, Rogers visited the Washington Redskins last week and now news comes out that Rogers is visiting the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday.

Interest in Rogers is high because he’s one of a few attractive free agents on the market. With the current labor situation in the NFL, there hasn’t been much player movement. Because of that, Rogers is an attractive commodity with upwards of 10 teams contacting him after his release, according to reports.

Rogers has unique size at 6’4” and 340 pounds which may be why so many teams are interested in him. He played nose tackle with the Browns but also saw time at defensive end last year. The two known teams interested in him -- Chiefs and Redskins -- both play 3-4 defenses.

Rogers will turn 32 years old next month. He was a second round draft pick by the Detroit Lions in 2001 where he garnered two Pro Bowl nods. He made his way to Cleveland after that, playing under current Chiefs defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, where he landed in another Pro Bowl.
