Free agent WR Terrell Owens reportedly tore his ACL and, after undergoing surgery sometime in the last month, is expected to be out until late November, if he returns to the NFL at all. T.O. has been a lightning rod wherever he went starting in San Francisco his rookie year to his stint with the Bengals in 2010.
Terrell Owens Injury: 49ers Fans React To Report Of Torn ACL
We've already heard from Eagles fans and what they think of the report of his injury and future in the NFL. Now it's time to turn to Owens' first team in the NFL and see what 49ers fans are thinking after the report. Via Niners Nation:
If TO is hoping to come back, I actually hope that he is able to fully recover and leave the NFL on his own terms. In recent years I've come to terms with TO and have moved beyond my distaste for him when he left the 49ers. Whatever the reasons behind it, he became the bad guy and fans turned on him. Whether that's right or wrong, he seems to have rehabilitated his image in recent years.
While I don’t think T.O. will be able to return to the NFL ever again, I do wish that he will. Regardless of his personality, he’s one of the best receivers to ever play the game and deserves to leave on his own terms. It’s unfortunate that he may not be able to.
