If the New York Jets could pair Oakland Raiders free agent Nnamdi Asomugha with Darrelle Revis, giving them one of the NFL's best defenders on each side of the field, what would be the point of football? According to Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger, Jets reps have "reached out to" Asomugha's team during the opening day of an already wild free agency period.
Nnamdi Asomugha Contacted By New York Jets, According To Report
Asomugha isn’t just the most highly sought player in this year’s class. He might be the best player in the NFL, and his addition would solidify what’s already New York’s biggest strength. This is kind of ridiculous.
As Vrentas notes, the Jets would have to pull off some serious mathematics to free up space for Nnamdi, but he’s previously said he’d be willing to play for less money if it meant gunning for a potential championship. The Jets, you’ll recall, made the AFC Championship Game two years running without him.
Is anybody else excited about every Jets game finishing in single digits?
