Nnamdi Asomugha just got paid by the Philadelphia Eagles as his whirlwind free agency tour came to a close on Friday evening. Asomugha will reportedly make $60 million over the next five years, with $25 million of it guaranteed. That's great news for Asomugha, but may not be so great news for DeSean Jackson, who will reportedly hold-out from camp as he tries to get the Eagles to restructure his contract.
DeSean Jackson Happy About Nnamdi Asomugha Signing, Still Looking For His Money
But Jackson put on his happy face and expressed unbridled happiness after the Asomugha signing was announce.
CONGRATS TO MY BIG BRO 21 NNAMBI ASOMUGHA FOR BECOMING A EAGLE!! #CAL
Let’s recap what’s going on here.
Asomugha: $12,000,000 per year, $750,000 per game.
Jackson: $565,000 per year, $35,312.50 per game.
Let’s also remember that Desean Jackson makes these kinds of plays on the regular.
That’s your versatile playmaker with the ability to break a game wide-open at any moment, either within the bounds of the passing game, on special teams or any other way an offensive coordinators scheming mind can dream.
The Asomugha deal was nice and all, but it’s time to pay the man, Philly. If you’d rather not, I’m sure a few teams would gladly take him off your hands.
