Osi Umenyiora had threatened the Giants that he would hold out of training camp if his contract issues were not resolved in a timely fashion. New York apparently called their defensive end’s bluff, however, and Umenyiora decided to show up to camp on Saturday even without a new contract.
Osi Umenyiora Will Report To Giants Training Camp, Still Seeking Trade
Osi Umenyiora met with agent Tony Agnone on Saturday afternoon and decided to report to training camp, according to the NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora. Umenyiora has apparently not lifted demand for a trade or new contract and he and his agent have no meeting scheduled with General Manager Jerry Reese.
This is an interesting string of events as it seems that what should have been a stalemate of epic proportions is now just going to turn into something awkward as Umenyiora goes through the motions with a team’s he already voiced his displeasure with under the current circumstances.
Ah, this is what everyone was missing while the NFL lockout was happening, am I right?
