Osi Umenyiora Trade Rumors: Patriots, Ravens, Falcons Could Join Seahawks As Possible Matches

Jason La Canfora adds the Patriots, Falcons and Browns to the Seahawks and Ravens as teams who might be interested in trading for New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora.

Teams aren’t willing to meet the Giants’ current asking price of a first-round draft pick in return for the 29-year-old defensive end. However, receiving a second- or third-round pick is feasible, sources said ...

There were few top pass-rushing ends on the open market, and several teams with Super Bowl aspirations, like Baltimore and New England, still have a need.

The Giants haven’t yet found a team willing to give up a first-round pick for Umenyiora - they’re wary of his health, and these kinds of deals for first-round picks don’t happen that often. Umenyiora reportedly wants to go to the Seahawks.

To have a real trade market develop, though, the Giants might have to stop asking for a first-round pick. If they were to reduce the price, they might begin to get more offers. Still, a deal is likely to happen eventually, since the Giants are allowing Umenyiora’s agent to pursue a trade:

still, almost ALWAYS when a player is given permission to seek a deal, a deal gets done. #giants
