Bryant McKinnie Will Be Ravens LT; Michael Oher Moves Back To RT

The Baltimore Ravens played the Washington Redskins on Thursday night but did it without their future left tackle. Michael Oher was in there but, since they acquired Bryant McKinnie, Oher is no longer the future at left tackle.

Once the Ravens signed McKinnie, they told him he’d be playing left tackle. That meant Oher, who played right tackle as a rookie and left tackle in year two last season, would move back to the right side.

For his part, Oher says he’s got no problem with the switch.

“I’m a football player,” Oher said. “I love being out there. This is my dream, to play in the NFL, and the Ravens drafted me. There’s no pride involved. I’m trying to win games. I want to win a Super Bowl. It’s no big deal for me to go back to right tackle. I never had a problem with it.”

Frankly, he was better on the right side his rookie year than he was on the left side so from a team standpoint I think this may be the best move. Assuming McKinnie gets into shape quickly and starts to contribute, the Ravens offensive line has the potential to be better.
