The playing status of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has not been determined, which explains why our partner Odds Shark has no line for this battle of NFC East rivals.
NFL Odds Week 3: Giants Vs. Eagles
The New York Giants look to avenge last December’s 38-31 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Vick suffered a concussion during Sunday night's 35-31 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, and will need to pass a baseline test administered by a third-party nuerologist before he's cleared to play on Sunday. If Vick is unable to play, second-year quarterback Mike Kafka would make his first NFL start on Sunday.
Not that they would, but the Eagles shouldn't expect any sympathy from the New York Giants. Not only did Philadelphia, namely DeSean Jackson, send the Giants' 2010 season into a death spiral in Week 15, but the G-Men have lost multiple players to season-ending injuries this season, including wide receiver Domenik Hixon, who suffered a second ACL tear in as many seasons while hauling in a 22-yard touchdown catch against the St. Louis Rams on Monday night.
The Giants have also lost cornerback Terrell Thomas and linebacker Clint Sintim to torn ACLs, with both injuries occurring before the regular season even began. 2011 second-round pick Marvin Austin suffered a torn pectoral muscle, and while they're not on injured reserve, first-round cornerback Prince Amukamara (broken foot) and Pro Bowl defensive ends Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora (knees) have been sidelined with injuries.
