The New York Jets are, pardon the pun, flying pretty darn high right now. They punctuated their 2-0 start with a 32-3 dismantling of the Jaguars in Week 2. It should maybe not come as a huge surprise that they are currently being pegged as 3.5-point road favorites over the Oakland Raiders.
NFL Odds Week 3: Jets Vs. Raiders
The Jets are 3.5-point favorites despite paying a visit to a pretty solid Oakland Raiders team.
There's certainly a lot to like with this team right now. Quarterback Mark Sanchez has been solid, if not downright exceptional, in throwing for 517 yards and four touchdowns. But this team is really built around its defense, which recovered nicely from Week 1's less-than-dominant performance against the Cowboys by completing destroying the Jaguars. Antonio Cromartie picked off a pair of Luke McCown passes, the Jets forced four turnovers and allowed just 203 yards of total offense.
The Raiders will almost certainly try to establish the run again, something they've done reasonably well in their first two games. Darren McFadden has already amassed 222 yards in the Raiders' first two games. If they can continue to move the ball at a healthy clip, this game has a very good chance of going over 41.
