For now if you don’t have a better option, Derrick Ward is likely to get the most carries on Sunday. However, if you’re uncomfortable with Foster potentially being out for several weeks, Ben Tate is the guy you should be looking at for the next few weeks.

Offensive coordinator Mike McCoy discussed the issue on Friday and indicated a preference for simply going with the hot hand:
Now he comes to Denver behind the third year back Moreno who has taken some time to reach his potential. Moreno rushed for 947 yards his rookie season at 3.8 yards per carry. His total yards declined to 779 his second season but he improved his ypc to 4.3. The Broncos went in the tank as the Josh McDaniels experience came to an abrupt end so it’s hard to blame him for fewer overall carries in the rushing game.

It’s easy to make grand proclamations prior to the season when you’ve got a plan in mind. However, when Blount is pounding through defensive lines for big gains, it will be interesting to see how much of the load Graham and Lumpkin carry. I could see Graham and Lumpkin splitting 7-10 carries, but not a whole lot more than that. This may change when Sunday gets here, but until proven otherwise, Blount remains a must-start.

David Garrard Released: Fantasy Football Impact

Getty ImagesIf you’re in a keeper or dynasty league, Blaine Gabbert suddenly got a little more interesting. He was always set to be the QB of the future, but that future is much closer to fruition now that Garrard is gone. Odds are high that Gabbert is in the starting lineup before the end of this season. While he likely will not help anybody in 2011, the early playing time could put him in line to be a decent backup contributor in 2012. Much of it depends on the Jaguars adding more legitimate skill position talent, but this is a start.
