The Seattle Seahawks trailed the Patriots 23-10 with a little more than nine minutes remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter. It appeared New England had the game in the bag, but two late touchdown passes from rookie quarterback Russell Wilson propelled the Seahawks to a 24-23 comeback victory.

The Seahawks pulled off a big win at home over the Patriots on Sunday, winning 24-23. Russell Wilson’s late touchdown pass to Sidney Rice proved to be the difference.

Wilson led his team on a five-play, 80-yard touchdown drive in just two minutes that was capped off with a 10-yard strike to Braylon Edwards to cut the deficit to 23-17.
Following two stops by Seattle’s defense, Wilson got the ball back around midfield with 2:38 remaining. He connected on a 46-yard touchdown pass deep down the field to Sidney Rice, tying the game at 23-23. An extra point gave the Seahawks their first lead since late in the first quarter.
Tom Brady and the Patriots got the ball back with a chance to go down the field and retake the lead, but the 'Hawks defense held strong and forced a turnover on downs. Wilson took one final knee with the football, securing the win and improving Seattle's record to 4-2. New England is now 3-3.
Wilson was terrific all game long, completing 59% (16-for-27) of his passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns. Marshawn Lynch was limited on the ground, rushing for just 41 yards on 15 carries.
Brady threw for 395 yards and two touchdowns, but two interceptions were costly for the veteran quarterback. Stevan Ridley was mostly ineffective on Sunday, rushing for 34 yards on 16 carries. Wes Welker had a big day for the Pats with 138 receiving yards and a touchdown on 10 receptions.

Welker had the most points of any skill position player, hauling in 10 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. Wilson was Seattle’s top performer with 293 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.
But Did They Cover?
The Patriots opened as three-point favorites and lost, so they failed to cover the spread.
Injury info
Wes Welker suffered a big hit in the first half, but he still managed to keep playing. Aaron Hernandez played his first game in four weeks after suffering an ankle injury.
