Andrew Luck carries Colt past Browns

Fantasy Impact: The good news is that Richardson apparently did not aggravate anything during the game. He still wasn’t/isn’t 100 percent, however, and had to be benched due to ineffectiveness on the field.

However, writes Chris Pokorny of SB Nation’s Cleveland Browns blog, Dawgs by Nature, the Browns could not overcome the miscues to grab a game that could have been theirs.

The Indianapolis Colts took advantage of the Cleveland Browns’ lack of a running game to play ball control and win 17-13 at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

Vick Ballard led the Colts with 84 yards on 20 carries, while Reggie Wayne caught six balls for 73 yards on the day.

Luck, a highly-accurate passer, is adept at reading the defense despite being a rookie, and he has been going through his progressions and making good reads. Plus, he’s giving Colts fans and fantasy players a lot to smile about with two rushing touchdowns in the first half. The Indy signal caller was 10-18 for 137 yards in the first half, along with eight rushing yards on just three drives.

Since the game has been shortened due to the long scoring drives, the Browns are still in it down 14-6, meaning Indianapolis will have to continue to run its scoring offense, which could lead to more big numbers for Luck.

The Browns converted first downs on three 3rd and 10 or longer plays to keep pace with the Colts. The two opening drives took the entirety of the first quarter.

Richardson has had a moderately successful start to his career with 526 total yards in his first six games, but on just 3.6 yards per carry.

Fantasy Take: The injury seems minor and, with him being active against the Colts, he’s set as a solid RB1 versus a defense ranked last in the NFL in rushing touchdowns scored against and 29th in yards per carry against. He’s had a couple of injuries pop up this year but nothing terribly serious and he’s been active the whole season.

Fantasy Impact: There isn’t much at all to like about Massaquoi’s fantasy prospects at the moment. He is struggling to get healthy, and he wasn’t a particularly exciting option even when he was 100 percent. Factor in Gordon’s increased role in the offense, and there is little excuse to still own Massaquoi in standard formats.

Gordon’s prospects, meanwhile, see a slight boost now that there is less competition for targets Sunday. The Colts have given up 10 touchdowns this season to just two interceptions, making Gordon an intriguing WR2/Flex option this week.
