Jake Locker injury: Titans QB will start Week 10 barring setback

Jake Locker should be ready to play for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, when they take on the Miami Dolphins. The second-year quarterback missed five games with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

Unless there's an unexpected setback with his shoulder, Jake Locker will start at quarterback for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

Locker has been out since Week 4 against the Houston Texans, when he injured his non-throwing shoulder. In his place, the team has started Matt Hasselbeck -- who has been somewhat serviceable, completing 62.7 percent of his passes -- but he has been in charge of a sputtering Titans offense.

Although the team did win two of the six games in which the 14-year veteran has played the majority of snaps, for the most part, he's been sub-par, only throwing for over 250 yards once and throwing as many interceptions as touchdowns in four of the six games. Whatever offensive success the team has had under Hasselbeck is almost entirely attributable to Chris Johnson's running. This past week's outing, when the Titans turned the ball over five times in a 51-20 blowout against the Chicago Bears, was probably a sign that Locker needed to come back.

The team was 1-2 with the 2011 first-round pick at QB, including a 44-41 overtime win against Detroit where Locker threw for 378 yards and two touchdowns.
