What did Pierre Garcon say about RGIII and Kirk Cousins?

The Redskins wide receiver tipped his hand about which quarterback might be starting this week, but it’s too soon to panic.

Pierre Garcon dropped the ball in a Tuesday morning interview with SportsCenter. The Washington Redskins wide receiver was asked about getting ready for the team's Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns when he slipped in a little tidbit about the quarterback situation.

“We have a little bit tougher of a task,” Garcon said. “We have Kirk [Cousins] starting.”

RGIII suffered a mild right knee sprain, a Grade 1 LCL sprain to get all scientific about it, late in the fourth quarter of last week's win over the Ravens. It is not the kind of injury expected to put him on the shelf for a long time, and his status for Week 15 is still up in the air.

So what to make of Garcon’s comments? Not too much. As the anchor notes at the end of the video clip below, RGIII has not been ruled out this week. Cousins may very well start the week under center with the first team if Griffin needs some recovery time, but it doesn’t mean he’ll be on the field this Sunday.

Forcing the Browns to prepare for Cousins and RGIII isn’t a bad thing for the Redskins, either.

Don’t panic, not yet anyway, Redskins fans.
