RGIII injury update: Redskins QB feeling better, won’t commit to playing Week 15

RGIII declined to say whether he would be on the field Sunday against the Browns.

Robert Griffin III suffered a knee injury last weekend which is putting his status for the Washington Redskins Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns in doubt. While speaking to reporters on Wednesday RGIII wouldn't commit to playing on Sunday -- that decision is up to Redskin coach Mike Shanahan and team doctors -- but he sounded confident in his recovery.

RGIII said that last Sunday night he wasn’t sure if he would be ready to play the next week but in the past couple of days he’s progressed to the point where he’s starting to feel better. He would need a knee brace if he plays, but he wore one at Baylor during the 2010 season.

On his knee: "It's just about getting confidence back in it. I plan on getting confidence back in it relatively quickly."

On the recovery process: “The more the leg loosens up, the more the swelling goes down, the more you progress, the more you can do little things.”

On what he can do right now: “I can walk around normally. I can run in place. I can do all those things.”

On whether he can throw: “Planting and throwing is not a problem. I did some planting and throwing out here all day.”

RGIII declined to say whether he would be available on Sunday. “I don’t want to give the Cleveland Browns a competitive advantage.”
