Browns think RGIII will play despite injury

The Cleveland Browns believe that Robert Griffin III will start at quarterback for the Redskins despite his sprained knee.

The Cleveland Brown are preparing as if Robert Griffin III will be the starter on Sunday despite his knee injury. The Redskins quarterback has practiced the last two days and appears to be getting healthier each day. Browns defensive coordinator Dick Jauron said, "we fully anticipate that he'll play."

RGIII sprained his knee in the Redskins win over the Baltimore Ravens and had to be replaced by fellow rookie Kirk Cousins, who lead the Redskins to victory. It was unknown at the start of the week who would be playing quarterback for Washington when they went to Cleveland on Sunday, but with Griffin practicing and improving, the Browns have assumed that he will be able to play.

The sprained knee might limit RG3’s mobility, but the Browns are still preparing for his speed and assuming the Redskins will use the read option offense. Jauron said, “we have to play as fast as we can possibly play. Otherwise we have no chance at all.”
