There was no tie this time around as the St. Louis Rams kicked a game-winning, 54-yard field goal in overtime.
Rams fans pleased with performance in win

US PRESSWIREThe Rams trailed 10-2 in the fourth quarter before scoring 10 points in the final 3:03 of regulation that included Zuerlein’s 53-yard field goal to tie the game. It was an exciting end to a rather unexciting game up until that point, which is exactly what the Rams were looking for facing a strong San Francisco team.
Douglas M of Turf Show Times praises the offensive line among many of the positives on Sunday for the Rams:

Dilip VishwanatStill, Niners Nation doesn’t believe it’s time to panic on the Kaepernick experiment:
The good news for the 49ers is that they don’t have to play the Rams the rest of the season after getting two of their toughest challenges from their division foe.

Dilip VishwanatThe 49ers are one of the toughest defenses in the NFL. San Francisco ranks 4th in total run defense, second in rushing touchdowns allowed, and third in yards per carry allowed. Jackson, in his last season before turning 30, came into the game with 724 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in his ninth year.

Brian BahrIf there’s one saving grace for the NFL’s first tie in about four years, it’s the fact that both teams get another four (or five) quarters to resolve it and beat the other team into the ground, like any civilized franchise would (hope to) do.
Amendola caught 11 passes for 102 yards in the first meeting with the 49ers, and many of those were big receptions in key situations. But he played in a limited capacity against the Cardinals last week, and is limited with a heel injury. There’s no word on if he’ll play against the 49ers this week, but his absence would be huge for the Rams.
